What it is.

High-density stratified timber panels designed specifically for external use.

Only with materials manufactured from natural wood is it possible to convey the sensation of warmth and beauty, quality and comfort that real wood can give a building.

Parklex offers a wide range of extraordinary outdoor paneling - all manufactured from natural wood and a process during manufacturing that give the wood properties of strength and durability making it ideal for use on building exteriors.

When designed into a ventilated rainscreen façade with open joints and a permeable weather barrier, the system provides superior building envelope performance combined with beautiful aesthetics.

Whether it rains, is sunny, hot or cold, Parklex makes it possible to cover the façades of buildings with natural wood, giving them a look of quality and comfort from the outside with all the benefits of rainscreen performance.

The difference - Everlook. Parklex developed and tested this 21st century coating for its natural wood products and found it protects and ensures longer lasting performance in cold, hot, wet and dry climates. This is superior to the finish of comparable products.

100% Natural Wood Large Format Panels for Exterior Façades

Parklex is suitable for 6 storey buildings with sprinkler systems, and has achieved the ULC/CAN S-134 non combustibility rating.

Parklex Façade comes in an array of colours and thicknesses. The thickness leads to a decision about front fastened or rear hung systems.

What do I do now?

Parklex is good for large, medium and small buildings.

Think of the kind of look you are trying to achieve. Panels can be mounted horizontal or vertical or cut to any size you wish. For sustainability, we recommend cutting to create as little waste as possible. Colours may be matched, as you require. Fasteners may be colour matched, stainless steel or hidden.

Engineered Assemblies will work with you to detail the building. The attached planning guide shows common Rainscreen details. Joints above, below and between panels are left open. Joints between panels may have trims for aesthetics. Wood, steel or aluminum girts are used. An EPDM liner is installed on the girts to create a good platform for expansion and contraction.

On commercial jobs the typical approach is to design the architectural view and details needed for tendering. Upon award, EA provides stamped shop drawings and construction drawings so the installer can get to work. EA project manages the job to fulfill the needs of the installation company.

On residential jobs the typical approach is to get the look you want, and work with the builder to install to meet those needs. EA often delivers full panels, fastners, AirOutshield and EPDM liner in bulk.
