Delta Fassade S and Vent S are the products that Engineered Assemblies has researched and chosen for RVRS walls. EA can provide you the whole line of Delta products if you have interest in other products.
These products are like ‘Goretex’ for your building. They are used on the outside of the insulation, at the back of the ventilation cavity. This allows for vapour to escape your wall while blocking weather and water from getting into the wall.
Many insulations work wet. So why have a membrane protecting them? Water causes all sorts of problems. For many insulations water does reduce thermal protection. In addition water causes mould, is a force during freeze and thaw cycles to separate joints, sealants or other materials, creates a path for other pathogens like bacteria, and generally causes trouble. The RVRS wall system is designed to have several barrier layers to be reliable forever. The outer membrane from Delta gives the Designer the confidence that a couple bucks a square feet in expense goes a long way to ensure the building system is going to operate right forever.

Delta Fassade
DELTA®-FASSADE S, highly stabilized against damage from UV exposure, is designed for use in cladding systems that have open joints of up to 2” (50 mm) wide which expose up to 40 % of the entire facade surface. It acts as a durable drainage plane, channeling bulk (liquid) water from wind-driven rain and snow to the outside of the structure. The watertight membrane helps protect the building enclosure from damaging effects of moisture infiltration. Its high vapor permeability allows moisture within the cavity to escape swiftly.
DELTA®-FASSADE S is Class B fire-rated. Its performance is unaffected by surfactants.
Delta Vent S
DELTA®-VENT S is highly vapor permeable WRB, allowing moisture within the building enclosure to escape through the membrane. Its high permeability and air-tightness makes it an ideal air and water-resistive barrier membrane for energy efficient construction. The product is watertight, and will help protect the building enclosure from wind-driven rain and snow while providing a drainage plane to channel water harmlessly to the outside of the building.
DELTA®-VENT S is Class A fire-rated. Its vapor permeable, air barrier, and watertight qualities are unaffected by surfactants.
